Can we compare the scale of happiness of children? Fair question? May be and may be not.
Here are Photographs of 3 children But each has a different reason to be happy!
first 2 images are direct result of Google search for a query - "Happy Child India" The caption describes what the image results display -

This third picture is not a result of any standard query. Can you guess why is she so happy?
Nope, She didn't get the 1st rank in her school and neither she got any prize.
For
the 1st time in her life, she got the opportunity to fetch the water
from a well- usually reserved for upper class communities. Basically she's from a Dalit community, commonly identified as an untouchable.
Wait, Isn't that history? Constitution of India hereby declares .. blah blah blah... ? We're through with that a long time back.
Apparently not so. Check out this Documentary by Stalin K. It covers Most of the states in India, most of the religions (Hindu, Christians, Muslims and even Sikhs). The findings are startling.
Untouchables is a concept that might be extinct on paper, but it continues to exist in the minds of millions of rural and urban people in India.
